Clear expectations
How the marketplace works
Dog-friendly does not mean the same thing for every dog or every property. DogsWelcome makes the important details visible so travellers can judge whether a stay suits their dog.
Property information
Hosts provide their property details, dog rules and compliance information. DogsWelcome structures that information and checks required publishing fields, but does not claim every host statement has been independently verified.
Pricing and payments
The complete booking total is shown before confirmation. Guests pay no DogsWelcome service fee. Payments are processed securely through Stripe, and any host-set charges are shown in the price breakdown.
Privacy and addresses
A property’s exact address is not displayed publicly. Confirmed guests see only the general location until the address is released on check-in day by default, or earlier when a host explicitly chooses to share it.
Booking and cancellation
A stay may offer Instant Book or require a booking request, depending on the host’s settings. The applicable cancellation terms are shown before a guest confirms.
Reviews and reporting
Review eligibility is tied to completed stays. Guests and hosts can report concerns, and DogsWelcome may moderate content that breaches platform rules.
Damage, incidents and insurance
Guests and hosts can document and report a problem connected with a stay. DogsWelcome is not an insurer and does not currently provide a host damage guarantee or property protection policy.
Hosts should maintain appropriate short-term rental and liability insurance. Guests remain responsible for their dog and for damage they cause, subject to the booking terms and applicable law.
